Every day we hear more about the revolting corruption in government, both at the state and federal level. If it’s not illegal no-bid contracts that end up ruining the people’s reflecting pool in Washington, it is a proposed $1.776 billion slush fund for criminal traitors. Or a slush fund Keystone Kash Patel is using as extra pay for FBI agents hot on the trail of tRump’s enemy list. Or a bribe in the form of a $400 million airplane from Qatar. Subsequently, the US government quite coincidentally (!) inks a deal with Qatar worth billions.
Lots of MAGA folks are living pretty well. For the rest of us, times are hard. Prices at the grocery store continue to soar. Beef prices are through the roof, and now screwworms are delighting in DOGE’s shutdown of programs designed to keep those parasites (and others, like Ebola) at bay.
Gas prices might be softening, but the truce in the unnecessary Iran war is shaky as a leaf on a tree.
How about our kids? The conservatives are throwing them to the wolves. The affordability crisis hurts children by limiting their access to basic needs and pushing families into poverty. Skyrocketing housing and child care costs force parents to trade off quality health care and nutrition, while financial stress and housing instability harm a child's development, academic success, and overall well-being.
